I thought I’d start this week the way I ended last week, with an Angela Jones shot! This is a slightly different shot than last week, as it’s by Harrison Marks and is a common shot of Angela that has appeared many times on the internet. The difference with this shot is the quality of the scan and the fact it’s the uncensored version of Angela. We get a view of her smooth shaven bits in this shot, so still worth a view even if you’ve seen it before!
Angela’s Doorstep Dilemma!

Angela Jones, kneeling down to adjust her stocking on the doorstep at Ewhurst Manor. Or maybe she’s cleaning the doorstep, either way it’s a cracking view of her in just stockings and high heels!
Lee Southern – Poolside Poses (Originals)
Three more silver gelatin prints of Lee Sothern (Southern) from photographic glass plates. These were again taken poolside at Sheplegh Court down in South Devon in the 1960’s, although in this shoot the pool seems to be empty in these, so maybe a later date than the shot I posted here?
Three great poses by Lee and after a bit of detective work I’ve identified the photographer as Leslie L. Bainbridge, editor of H&E (Health & Efficiency) magazine and then Girl Illustated.
Val Van Dotson: Fantastic Name & Body!
I first came across Val in a film by Arthur Howell called ‘Brides in the Bath‘, which I’ve posted over on my Just June Site, as it starred June Palmer plus many other models photographed by Harrison Marks. In that film she went by the name ‘Vanda Vane Dotson’, but also appeared in Spick & Span and Girls Illustrated as ‘Wanda Van Dotson’ (Below)
Other than those few appearances I can find very little about her and even if that was her real name? Real or not it was a cracking name to have as a model and one you don’t easily forget! Saying that she also has a great body in the shots above, but in the film doesn’t get undressed at all, but plays quite a frumpy Matron. I think I prefer her as above :)
Sandra’s Smooth Bedtime Surprise! (Original)
Sandra Cassano posing for Harrison Marks kneeling on a bed that we have seen before, as the headboard is familiar! Not sure about the matching curtains and wallpaper though! This comes from Kevin and is a scan of an original negative, so is uncensored and we see a glimpse of Sandra’s smooth nether region in this shot.
June on Glass, Box 1 Plate No.7 – Seated View (Original)
The 7th glass photographic plate of June taken by Leslie Bainbridge in the studio (12th August, 1960). This shot has June sat with her legs out to one side as she plays with her necklace, unfortunately there is a shadow on the right hand side and I’m not sure if that was in the studio at the time or on the glass plate itself. Still a worthy shot of June :)

June Palmer – A Quick Drinks Break! (Original)
We’ve had cigarette’s, now for booze and fast cars! A brilliant shot of June posing for a publicity shot or advert I assume, sat on the back of a vintage car with a glass of wine in hand.
The Grasshopper Inn, which is prominent in the shot still exists today and can be found in Westerham, Kent and is advertised as a privately owned, recently restored, beautiful Tudor building set in the idyllic Kent countryside. There are many images of the Inn online, but I couldn’t find this particular view, but I’m sure it has changed considerably since then! It is also close to Oxted and I have other shots of June from this same shoot with her sat on the bonnet and roof of the darker vintage car at a crossroads with Oxted on a sign.
The darker car is possibly a Jaguar, as may the white one be, but not 100% sure? A great piece of June Memorabilia that is different from the normal glamour related stuff and a snapshot of things back then.
Update: Thanks to MadMax who sent this message to me – ‘The cars are both Elva Couriers and this looks very like a publicity photoshoot for advertising or brochures. Elva were based in Bexhill, then Hastings so this part of Kent would have been almost on their doorstep.’. Madmax is spot on because if you go to the Elva website there are two colour photo’s taken outside the Grasshopper at the same time as the one above, one even has June in it with the title “Arrive in style and enjoy a glass of ‘warm’ beer and a Babycham for your lady.” – Fantastic and thanks to MadMax.
On further searching I’ve found another shot of June posing in a bikini in a white Elva here, that identifies the car as a 1961 Trojan-built MkIII Elva Courier. I also found ‘Fast Elva Ladies’ Page featuring June in two shots as well here. Which then also led me to this image of June I’d already posted in the now identified car :)
I love stumbling across things like this and all from one image :) More images of June and the Elva to come …
