The Just Series

The ‘Just’ series was produced by Nostalgic Publications in the late 1990’s and was a series of A5 sized magazines featuring the re-printed work of GHM, with each magazine dedicated to a different model.  I believe there were only 5 originally, but there are also 2 Just June’s for June Palmer, but unlike the first 5 not GHM reprints. 




I have a copy of the first 4 magazines for Lorraine Burnett, Marie Deveraux, Pamela Green and Paula Page, but the Just Vicky is a tricky one and harder to find!  If anyone knows of where I can get a copy then please do let me know. Although not originals, even these reprints are becoming scarce and have been redone as Kindle e-books, but not as full as these printed versions.

Yamille (1963)

Another lesser known Harrison Marks model known only as ‘Yamille’ and this dusky maiden appeared only in Kamera No.48 (Cover below) & No.53 as well as on the october page of the 1963 Kamera Calendar.

More Marie Provost

After not being able to find anything on Marie Provost to start with I’ve now come across a further two images of her.

These two shots are definitely by GHM as they seem to be in the bedroom of his flat in Gerrard Street.  They are also very similar to those taken of Frankie Young in Kamera No.56, so puts them around 1964, so Kamera No.61?

The eyes and face on the top shot look very edited, but not by me I may add!

Breath in Monique!

Another original image, this time Monique Devereux against the backdrop of a brick wall!  I must admit that MD isn’t one of my favourite GHM models  she always looks like she’s ‘sucking everything in’ when being photographed and it just doesn’t look natural.  Saying that she appears the same in nearly all of her shots, so perhaps I’m doing her an injustice!

On a more trivia note, we know that Monique Devereux (Monique Leitzau) was the name given to her by GHM, but was he a fan of the TV western, Hotel de Paree (1959–1960) as one of the main characters played by Judi Meredith was Monique Deveraux! I’m never sure of the Devereux spelling with GHM, as seen it in all these versions Deveraux, Devereaux, Devereux and I’ve probably used all versions at different times!  Add Marie Deveraux into the mix and it justs get damn confusing!
