The cover of Spick & Span Extra (Summer 1967) featuring Dawn Grayson, which like most of the covers from that early period has a certain painted effect to it, rather than a simple photo. A stunning cover of Dawn posing in an armchair with her hair in a plat, which I’ve never seen before!

Fanni Leigh (Polly Eltes) on the cover of Skirt No.25 with the photo taken by Terry Sparks. I always like it when I come across a published image either on the cover or within the pages of a vintage magazine that I also have in my original collection and this falls into that category. I recently published a similar black and white version of Franni by Terry here, then what do I find on my travels but a magazine cover featuring one of the shots, but in colour. Unfortunately I don’t have any colour shots from this set of Franni, but at least I now know the colour of her top!

The sumptuous curves of Ann Austin gracing the cover of Fotag No.2. I love how these magazines were defined as 48 pages of photographic studies, when basically it was cover to cover nudes.
June Russell and that very colourful towel on her head posing on the cover of Kamera No.16 (1959). The image has obviously been flipped on it’s side to fit the cover, but still a fabulous shot of a nude June Russell. The towel she’s lying on also looks familiar and was used in several shots with Pamela Green from Kamera on Location.
The stunning Pat Ebden from the cover and centre pages of QT No.43 by Russell Gay and worth every penny!
One of my favourite early Kamera covers featuring Pamela Green and Jean Spaul (Sporle) posing in the living room of GHM’s flat. Not much more you need to say about it really, other than it’s a classic cover and even today has an elegance and style about it that can’t be replicated.
