Ann Wilson – Another Perky Redhead (1965)

Ann Wilson, another favourite redhead of mine and one that is also mistaken in some shots for the other redhead, Dawn Grayson. This may be due to the fact that both posed outdoors for GHM with his White Buick and both have similar body shapes.
Ann started posing for Harrison Marks in 1964 and the above shot comes from Solo No.44 (1965) dedicated to her. Ann was one of the few models to be shot by GHM in the house and grounds at a manor in Orpington, which we now know was Walden Manor. So it seems that the shots of Ann, Dawn and others with the White Buick may well have taken place at Walden and Not Ewhurst.
A great shot of Ann above and now I have many more to share thanks to getting a great copy of Solo No.44.

Double Top! Kamera No.18 Cover (1959)

You can’t get much better than this as a cover shot from Harrison Marks for Kamera! Not one but two naked blonde beauties in the form of Pamela Green and June Simpson on the cover of Kamera No.18 (1959). The pose from June Simpson and angle that she’s stood just show off her figure and that great curvy bum to perfection and then there next to her is Pam looking as serene as ever! One of my top 5 Kamera covers, I think, and taken at Pam’s parent’s house in Kent, of all places.

Vicky From Vue No.5 (1963)

Three wonderful pages of Vicky (Margaret Nolan) from Vue No.5 (1963) scanned from the original magazine and an article I’d not come across before? Thanks must go to Nils, who is a regular commenter on this blog, as he sent me this magazine and one other all the way from Sweden.

More to come from this magazine, as it includes many other familiar faces from the 1960’s and this blog.

Thanks again Nils!

Pamela Green – Only Pearls (Coloured)

Another coloured version of Pamela Green from Oldiznewagain from one of my original posts. Interesting that her went for the ginger/redhead look with this one rather than blonde, which I think she was in the original, but it works! Great effort as always, but maybe a little too bright and could be calmer and the red in the lips looks to have bled or smudge a little too much losing definition. Picky I know :)

Audrey Crane

Another early model for Harrison Marks this time Audrey Crane from Kamera No.37 (1961) and credited as ‘Currently appearing at the Casino de Paris, London’. She also appeared in Kamera No.38 and In Focus No.3 & No.15 and details of her time and appearances at the Casino de Paris, London and it’s history can be found … Here

Dawn Grayson – Lady In The Lake

Beautiful shot of Dawn Grayson in long negligee posing knee deep in a lake from ‘Ed Alexander Photographs English Beauties’ (1964). I’m not sure I’d be that happy posing in the water like that, but all for one’s art!

Pamela Green – Only Pearls

Pamela Green posing holding just a string of pearls nude from the pages of the Kamera Special No.1 (1957).  A beautifully posed shot of Pam with her familiar blonde hair by Harrison Marks from page 13 of the first Kamera Special.

How Much Editing Do I Do?

Someone asked the question on how much I edit the images published on here, which doesn’t have a straightforward answer!  It depends! It depends on the size and quality of the original, but my view is that I only restore or enhance, but not alter.  Most of the time it’s restoring colour, removing blemishes and scratches and tweaking highlights and contrast and re-sizing if they are large files.  Overall, nothing that drastically alters the context of the original.

I’ll use another June Palmer shot as an example.

The original image scanned directly from a 120 film negative

My Edit – A slight crop of the image, colours enhanced and restored & a few scratches removed and that is it!

The purists will say don’t mess with the original, but I prefer the colours in my edit!

The image is another JP original from John W of June as Joanna Kent in strawberry blonde wig on the beach and I love it!  I think it’s the pose and June’s bum!
