Another shot from the collection of original Philip Gotlop prints sent over by Paul from Firebird Records, but this time the model is recognisable, especially if you follow this site. The model so beautifully highlighted by the light and shadows is non other than Sylvana Manto (Madelaine Bannister). A stunning shot of her by Philip and I do wonder why his early glamour work has gone mostly unnoticed or avoided rather than his more popular work? Maybe as he became more popular he didn’t want to be associated with this side of his photography, but we all have to start somewhere!

An outstanding image of Sylvana Manto (Madelaine Bannister) stood nude with her hands on hips from a restored silver gelatin photo. Here you get to see all of Sylvana, including her well developed bosom and perfectly smooth nether region. she had a very nasty scar just below her belly button, which in some shots is seen, but others carefully hidden. Either way what a fabulous figure on full view!

A smoking hot shot of a very sophisticated, but nude Sylvana Manto (Madelaine Bannister) posing in long black gloves from the late 1950’s.
This comes from a collection of scanned original photo’s sent over by Ian one of my members. They were found by a friend of Ian’s in the eaves of his garage, in a yellow Kodak 6 by 4 box when he was having a clear out from previous owner. Some were damaged in places by damp but are still a valuable archive and as you can see from above still good enough to be restored. There were about 75 prints in total, including some familiar models such as Sylvana, Lorraine Burnett and several shots of a young June Wilkinson from the 1950’s and 60’s. Thanks must go to Ian for sending them over and allowing me to restore and share them here 🙂

A great shot of Sylvana Manto and her voluptuous figure superimposed on a second photo of a beach scene. Â This appeared in Kamera No.9 P21 (1958) and was one of ont a handful of images of Sylvana appearing for Harrison Marks in Kamera. GHM was also prone to using his models superimposed on beach or sky backgrounds, but thankfully he didn’t do it too often.
