The Man & His Muse

The man himself, Harrison Marks with Jennifer Garland from the opening page of Kamera Backstage (1959). There are numerous shots of the GHM taking photo’s of all the lovely models that worked for him, but I tended to focus on the models rather than GHM for some reason. This shot as he says himself in the editorial has him looking rather sinister, but it’s a good one and includes Jennifer, so why not!

Della Fox – Yes Sir!

Della Fox on the cover of Sir No.3 (Late 1950’s?) in some very colourful blue sheer panties and contrasting red suspender belt. Another model that changed her hair colour as often as her knickers, I’ve seen her blonde, dark and now red!

Eileen Sheridan – QT No.13

Eileen Sheridan from the inside back cover of QT No.13 (1959?).

The interesting fact about Eileen is she was the first winner of the Miss United Kingdom title in 1958. So if the timelines are correct, she did this either just before or just after winning the title, I wonder if they knew! She also won the Miss Great Britain title in 1960 and was also known for her association with the London underworld ‘firm’ headed by the Kray twins. A very colourful early career indeed!

Pamela & The Pearl Choker

Another early Pamela Green nude by Harrison Marks from the 1950’s, this time posing nude wearing just a pearl choker around her neck. An elegant pose from a scan of an original silver gelatin photograph.

Lorraine Burnett – QT Beauty

Lorraine Burnett as the QT Beauty from the centre pages of QT No.13 by Russell Gay. Strategically placed bow and long blond hair covering the essential bits!

Anyone have a date for this magazine, or any of the other QT magazines, as they don’t seem to have publication dates in them?

Elaine Desmond – Etudes No.7 Cover

Elaine Desmond sporting a wicker hat on the cover of Etudes Plastique Album No.7 (1955) by Belorgey and Roland Carre.  A wonderful 32 page French magazine, but unfortunately the only recognisable model is Elaine on the cover, the rest although very nice are unknown French/European models.

I must say that for a 59 year old magazine it is in exceptional condition, as these magazines have detachable covers similar to a dust jacket.  That means the magazine inside is nearly perfect condition with no wear to the page edges of discolouration. It came as part of a bundle of magazines I aquired and rather than putting it to one side to gather dust I thought I’d have a go at selling it on eBay.  Take a look if interested, but in the meantime enjoy the cover :)
