Angela Duncan – Mayfair Magazine

Following in the footsteps of Margaret Nolan, June Palmer and Ann Walker, an appearance in Mayfair Magazine for Angela Duncan.  She appeared on the cover of Mayfair Vol.5 No.10 (October 1970) and as Mayfair’s Girl of the Month as above.  Sorry, don’t have a very good copy of the cover, but love the shots in white stockings and panties!

Signed by June Palmer

This shot from John appeals to me on 3 levels.  It’s an original taken by John himself, it’s then signed by June and finally it has my favourite sheepskin rug in it!

This shot was taken by John at Strobe Studios in 1984 and part of a set, but June liked this particular shot the best so signed it for him.  Thanks for sharing this wonderful piece of memorabilia with us John!

Vintage Magazines

A request! If any of you out there have a secret archive of vintage magazines then I’d be interested in getting copies!  It goes without saying I’m particularly interested in anything Harrison Marks, Pamela Green or June Palmer related.  I am also interested in copies of Parade, Carnival and Girl Illustrated from the 1960’s and early 1970’s or any of the older Fiesta or smaller digest magazines.

I’m looking for high quality scans if you have them, or if you want to send me original magazines, then even better!  I do this site for free and make nothing from it, so can’t offer you any financial recompense, but you will have my eternal gratitude and of course be quoted as the source of any material.

I know I’m asking a lot as these magazines are 40 years and older and becoming quite collectable, but the saying goes, if you don’t ask ….

Anyway if you do and want to share please contact me via the form on the contact page and lets discuss :)

Cheers,

What The Photographer Saw – Pamela Green (1952)

On Monday I published a single image of Pamela Green and a Soldier by Zoltan Glass, which was followed up with the full article from Lilliput Magazine in December 1952 from Simon.  Anyone that looked through the full article will have noticed a reference to Pamela appearing in an earlier edition of Lilliput that same year.

I now have that earlier article and the six images of Pamela by six different photographers of the time.  The photographers included Roger Wood, Alan Duncan, Philip Gotlop, Philip Boucas, Angus McBean and my particular favourite of the lot Joan Craven.  The article appeared in Liiliput Magazine, September – October 1952 and I’ve included the cover for completeness. Thanks as ever to Simon for the scans from his collection!

The Cartoon Style of Bill Ward

Another unrelated post, but more 1950’s cartoons from Bill Ward an artist that has a unique style and one that appeals to me!  I like the use of the black on sepia with white to enhance parts of the image and the drawing style of the females ;)  There is a theme on the images below if you can’t already guess, on the phone and spanking!

The tenuous link to this site is that these cartoons appeared in publications from the Humorama line such as Jest, Gaze, Stare, Snappy, Romp, Cartoon Parade and Gee-Whiz, along with fairly tame photo’s of models such as Eve Eden and Margaret Nolan.  Bill’s cartoons regularly appeared on the covers of Gee-Whiz through the late 1950’s and his unique style is easily identifiable.

A More Formal Teri Martine Shot!

A beautiful more formal portrait shot of Teri Martine from the 1960’s.  We are much more used to seeing Teri with little or no clothes on, but this is a beautiful shot of her and her stunning green eyes!  Thanks to G for sharing!

June Johnson

June Johnson another model that posed for GHM only a couple of times in the mid 1960’s, then seems to have disappeared!  Appeared in Kamera No.73 and modelled on the ‘Lantern Cottage’ set and appears in a set inside with Christmas cards hanging around.  Such a shame as another full figured woman with a very nice bush! This shot appeared in Nature’s Intention Vol.1 No.1 ‘A series of Natural Art Studies’ in 1969.
