What a way to die though! She had slightly bucked teeth, so maybe avoided an open smile for that reason, she also pouted a lot, so guess it depended on the mood of the shot as well.

One thing would explain her look and it is why she keeps her mouth shut. She had terrible teeth, not bad ones, but protruding ( goofy ), which gives her a natural pout when her mouth is closed
