Striking a Pose With June Palmer (Original)

Ah what to say! Another more formal/artistic pose from a young June Palmer sent through by John.  This is an earlier one of June (Late 1950’s?) and shows off her curves again to perfection.  I’ve said it before, but these poses just can’t be beaten today and the likes of June and Pamela Green just knew instinctively how to pose to get the best shot!  An art seemingly lost in today’s instant world of point and shoot!

  1. Absolutely ClassicWeight on one foot, other leg flexed at an angle, right hip thrown-out slightly, one shoulder raised. opposite arm raised, head slightly turned to the camera and cast downwards. An S- curve. So,so Lovely. You are so right about her and Pamela Green – I sometimes wonder if June consciously studied PG's poses, but both, I think, had a natural “feel” for posing – and it shows. The photographer also knew what he was doing e.g. the dramatic shadow, the way the lighting emphasises the curve of the spine and, in particular how he catches her profile against the shadow of her arm on the background.I have never seen this shot before and I could look at this all day, and just might!Thank-you so much for posting.Alexei

  2. Thank you Alexei and I couldn't have said it better myself and so eloquently put! It's a pleasure to share these images with everyone, as I get as much pleasure at looking at them as you all do.
