In Black & White – Parade No.1198 (1962)

The double Tri-coloured page from Parade No.1198 (24th November, 1962) featuring some lovely ladies in black and white underwear.  My personal favourites are of course Sophia Dawn in white, but also Rochelle Lofting in that black number!  From my own scan of the magazine with colours restored and the odd blemish removed :)

Cheese Cake Favourite – Gina Graham

Gina (Tina) Graham or Christine Carter from the centre pages of Parade No.1196 (Week-ending Saturday 10th November, 1962).

Anyone that has ever owned or handled a copy of Parade Magazine will know how flimsy the magazine is and the paper it was printed on!  The Centrefolds always tend to be missing or very poor quality, but this one was stunning! The whole magazine is in very good condition for 51 years old and has retained it’s colour extremely well!

The above has been stitched together and staple marks removed, but other than that it’s pretty much as it looks in the magazine.

This shot doesn’t really do it justice, but a larger version can be seen … here

June Palmer – Expert at Squeezing!

June Palmer from the ‘Cocktail’ page of Parade No.1194 (27th October, 1962), which again confirms she was a proficient accordion player, amongst other things!  A direct scan from the actual magazine, purchased with 16 other editions of Parade from 1962/63 last week :)

June Palmer & Inspector Maigret!

More June images from the great John W archive!  Not only does John provide me with the ‘normal’ (read topless/nude as normal) type of June image, but he has also provided me with some different from the norm images of June. These give an insight into the life of June Palmer outside of her modelling work and the following images fall into that category.

These images are of June Palmer in a blue traditional Spanish dress attending the Chelsea Wine Festival in 1962.  The first two are originals from John, but the last is common on the Internet, but obviously from the same event.

JP posing in a blue traditional Spanish dress (original)

June (second left) with actors Rupert ‘Maigret’ Davies and Paul Carpenter (original)

The most interesting image is probably the middle one where she is posing for an official photo at the Chelsea wine fair with Rupert Davies and Paul Carpenter, both renowned actors of the time.  Rupert Davies with his pipe was best known for his portrayal of ‘Maigret’ in the BBC series, which ran for 52 episodes between 1960 and 1963.

I suppose this could be classed as one of those ‘media’ events that today are so common and every actor or ‘star’ turns up for to be seen in the press.  Back then it seems to have had a little more class, especially if it involved JP!

On closer inspection the middle photo may also have been taken at a different time than the other two.  June seems to be wearing different white shoes and her hairstyle differs, but still worth keeping together.

Beautiful Side Profile of Unknown Blonde

I love this image! It comes from Kamera No.40 and this stunning blonde appears on pages 13 and 28, along with the intro page below.

Again she looks familiar, but can’t put a name to her and not going to try this time!  Does anyone recognise her?  Kamera No.40 was published in 1962 if that helps and I’ve looked on the official GHM website model data to no avail.

I’ll add it to the unknown models page for reference.

Marie Deveraux – French 75

Marie Deveraux wearing a blonde wig in an article title ‘French 75’ from Jolie Magazine Vol.1 No.1 (1962).  This magazine was a great find and other GHM models appeared in the same issue, such as Virginia Green and June Wilkinson.  Cover of the magazine in question for completeness below.
